Hasaan and Opal, however, frequently receive tampered archival material. It was Opal's job to sort the fact from fiction, though often, the lines began to blur.

What actually are the Swamp Gods? We know that the swamps they’re in are related to the Mirrorplex somehow and we know they’re able to fictionalize people but what do they do besides that and what is their relation to other beings of the series, if there is any relation?

Great question. The Swamp Gods are disciples of a being you will meet very soon. A Swamp God. They exist firmly on the cusp of reality and unreality, as manifestations of the lies we tell ourselves to stay sane.

Okay so a bit of a random question here, how is the superhero genre doing anyways? We know about the biopic about the Olympians, but what about other forms of media like comics or tv shows? Are they more akin to historical documentaries or are certain details "exaggerated" for dramatic effect?

A lot of the latter. Superhero media contains a lot of highly dramatized biopics. The genre of fictional superheroes is a lot less popular than it is now, with a different history attached to it, but it still exists.
